Two Rohingyas women arrested at Agartala railway station

Agartala, Sept 13 (FD) Two women, suspected to be Rohingyas have been arrested from Agartala railway stations today, who are allegedly involved in drug peddling and trafficking of women, police said.
The arrested women were identified as Salema Sheikh and Arifa Sheikh and were arrested while loitering in the station premise suspiciously.
The Railway police received secret information from BSF that two women had sneaked into Indian Territory and tried to catch a train to go to another state.
The GRP then shared the information to Amtali police station and accordingly a contingent of police arrived at the railway station and found that the two ladies were loitering there. Police arrested them and it was found that they entered India on Tuesday.
“During preliminary information it was revealed that the two women had with them several other women who had left for Delhi. We have strong suspicion that they were involved in women trafficking and drug peddling to many big Indian cities. More inputs may come out after proper investigation”, police said.
Tripura had long been used as a safe corridor of Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingya. FD JK
